No brainer: Infra-Man, of course. It has all the required elements, necessary for success: robots, babes in boots, exploding buildings and lasers shooting out of [crypto-robotic] eyeballs.
Also, great custom lettering, and some truly awful machine type: because the future isn't now, it was *then.*

Also a fan of Saul Bass' work, I'm a huge fan of this poster for The Man With the Golden Arm: http://www.areaofdesign.com...
It's simplicity in execution is of course more than remarkable, as is the custom hand-lettering, but the overall composition and gestalt of the piece elevate it to the level of being an essential classic. |

My favorite movie poster is probably Clash of the Titans (http://www.cinemasterpieces...) not only because it's a classic movie, and the painting is incredible, but also because my quest to find it on eBay was almost as epic as the story itself! It hung for four years at college and now it will decorate my new apartment in LA! |

I always liked the Star Wars: A New Hope poster where it looks like a painting and his lightsaber looks more like a sword. |

My favorite would have to be Event horizon. It was my first full-sized poster that even had the removable release date accross the bottom. |

I love the poster for "Trainspotting" that only has the text of the opening monologue on it, it's so simple and effective.
The poster for "Casino Royale" (the 1967 version) is pretty awesome, too. |

I've got to go with the "Commando Cody: Enemies Of The Universe" poster from 1955. It's an image that's been stuck in my head for the last 30 years, ever since I first saw it as a kid. |

Oh, it was just me being silly... here I was, trying to post my comment at Notcot. Oops. I guess, since I already commented there, I'll just post the same comment again:
I think I have a weakness for the classic Star Wars Trilogy posters for the earlier three movies… you know, the ones with the huge heads epically floating in space, small battle scenes clustered at their necks within glowing nebulae… I like those posters. |

I have an original San Franciso Subway poster for Apocolypse Now hanging in my living room. It's about 5ft by 4ft. Its fantastic but my favorite poster is:
The Valley of The Dolls.
It's so decadent, and I love the graphic design of their lives inside a pill. |

Attack Of The Crab Monsters. So awful, but so good. |

I had a Psycho movie poster (the old version, not the remake) on my wall for years.
It was always a favourite of mine. |

Normally any poster that is painted turns my head, but I think Forbidden Planet is top. It hits all the points, and the colors are just beautiful. |
